Summer Vacation...Or Not
I'm officially on my summer vacation! Unfortunately, that "vacation" is only 5 days long. I finished 3rd year and will start clinics with my Dermatology rotation on Tuesday. It seems like a great rotation to transition into a new setting - we only work 3 days/week! I decided to come home for a few days before then. Nothing is quite so relaxing as lounging with my family, feeding the alpacas, playing with the cats, and breathing the sweet country air. I love being home. I went shopping today and bought several shirts for clinics since we actually have to look decent in the hospital. I also chopped off my hair because I figured it'd be cooler (as in, less hot) and easier to do that way. The girl who washed my hair used to be a vet tech, and the woman who waxed my eye brows talked about her 3 cats (Persians) the entire time (she referred to them as fluff balls). That's what I love about the profession of veterinary medicine. Animal people just get it. They understand that animals have unique personalities and can enrich our lives to no end. As terrifying as clinics are, I really can't wait to jump in and learn as much as I can before entering the real world.
